QC Checkpoints
What Is Apparel Quality Control?
Apparel quality control is the process of checking garments, materials, measurements, construction, finishing and packaging against approved specifications before the order is shipped.
For custom clothing manufacturing, quality control starts before bulk production. A clear tech pack, approved sample, fabric standard, measurement chart, trim details and branding instructions help the factory understand what must be produced. Without these controls, even a skilled factory can face issues such as wrong sizing, shade variation, loose stitching, print errors or inconsistent finishing.
Quality Control Helps Prevent
- Incorrect measurements and fit issues
- Fabric shade or quality variation
- Stitching, seam and workmanship defects
- Printing, embroidery or logo placement errors
- Wrong labels, trims, hangtags or packaging
- Shipment delays caused by rework
Eco Jersey Apparel Quality Control System
Our quality control process follows the garment from planning to shipment. Each stage is designed to reduce avoidable mistakes and keep the approved sample, production specifications and final garments aligned.
Specification Review
We review the tech pack, artwork, fabric, trims, measurements, labels and packaging instructions before sampling or bulk production.
Material Inspection
Fabric, trims, zippers, buttons, drawcords, labels and other materials are checked against the approved requirement.
Pre-Production Check
The approved sample, size chart, stitching method and branding placement are confirmed before bulk cutting starts.
In-Line Inspection
During production, stitching, measurements, seam strength, finishing and workmanship are monitored to catch issues early.
Branding Inspection
Printing, embroidery, sublimation, labels, hangtags and packaging components are checked for placement and consistency.
Measurement Check
Garments are measured against the approved size chart and tolerance requirements to reduce fit inconsistencies.
Final Inspection
Finished garments are reviewed before packing using order specifications and inspection standards.
Packing Review
Folding, polybags, cartons, labels, barcodes and shipment packing requirements are verified before dispatch.
What We Check During Apparel Production
Quality control is not only one final inspection. It includes multiple checkpoints for materials, garment construction, measurements, branding and packaging.
Tech Pack & Specification Review
We check style details, construction notes, measurements, trims, artwork and packaging instructions before starting production.
Tech Pack Development →Fabric & Material Inspection
Fabric type, shade, GSM, hand feel, stretch, trims and accessories are reviewed to match the approved requirement.
Fabric Sourcing →Sampling & Fit Review
Samples help confirm fit, construction, finishing and branding before committing to full production.
Sampling & Pattern Making →Measurement Verification
Finished garments are checked against size charts and agreed tolerances to reduce sizing and fit complaints.
Size Chart Generator →Stitching & Workmanship
We monitor seams, skipped stitches, loose threads, puckering, tension, bartacks, hems and construction consistency.
Production Capabilities →Printing & Embroidery Checks
Logo placement, print quality, color alignment, embroidery neatness and branding accuracy are checked before finishing.
Custom Printing →Labeling & Branding Review
Woven labels, care labels, neck labels, hangtags, stickers and packaging details are reviewed for accuracy.
Custom Labeling →Packaging Inspection
Folding, polybagging, carton packing, size stickers, barcodes and shipment instructions are checked before dispatch.
Finishing & Packaging →Final Inspection
Before shipment, finished garments are checked for visible defects, measurements, finishing, packaging and order consistency.
QC Compliance Center →AQL Inspection & Defect Classification
AQL inspection helps buyers and manufacturers review a selected sample quantity from a production lot and classify defects by severity. It is commonly used in apparel quality control to decide whether a shipment meets agreed inspection expectations.
Critical Defects
Issues that may create safety, legal or severe usability problems. Examples can include sharp objects, unsafe trims, restricted substance concerns or serious construction risks.
Major Defects
Issues that can affect wearability, appearance, function or customer acceptance. Examples include wrong measurements, visible stains, broken seams, incorrect branding or shade mismatch.
Minor Defects
Small issues that do not usually affect function but may reduce presentation quality. Examples include loose threads, slight puckering, minor packing marks or small finishing inconsistencies.
