Getting Started
How to Get Started With Eco Jersey
New to custom apparel manufacturing? This step-by-step guide shows you exactly where to start, what to prepare, and how to place an order for custom apparel — taking you from a first idea all the way to a finished, packaged delivery.
Your Roadmap From Idea to Delivery
Working with an overseas clothing manufacturer for the first time can feel daunting, so we have broken the whole process into clear, ordered steps. Follow them in sequence, or jump straight to the stage you are at — each step links to the exact tools, resources, and pages you will need along the way. This is the simplest route to understanding the custom clothing manufacturer process and getting your order moving.
1
Discover
Explore What We Make & How We Work
Start by understanding our scope. Browse the apparel categories we manufacture and the manufacturing services behind them, so you can see how Eco Jersey fits the product you have in mind before you go any further.
2
Discover
Choose Your Manufacturing Model
Decide how you want to work with us. Whether you arrive with finished designs (OEM), want us to develop them for you (ODM), need genuinely low minimums, or prefer a ready-to-brand product, each route has a dedicated page that explains exactly what is included.
3
Learn
Get Familiar With the Basics
Before you start designing, build a working knowledge of fabrics, terminology, and construction. Our resource library demystifies the jargon so your tech pack is accurate and your conversations with our team stay precise from the very first message.
4
Plan
Estimate Quantities & Costs
Run the numbers before committing. Our free apparel tools let you check minimum order quantities, estimate fabric consumption, and build a realistic budget, so there are no surprises once you reach the quote stage.
5
Prepare
Build Your Tech Pack & Artwork
A clear tech pack is the single most important document for an accurate quote and a faithful sample. Download our free tech pack templates, lock in your measurements with our size charts, and prepare your branding and print-ready files so everything is ready to hand over.
6
Prepare
Review Compliance & Certifications
If your market requires certified materials or documented quality, check what we can provide up front. Understand our quality-control standards and which material certifications we source through our certified mill partners for your specific order.
7
Engage
Request Your Quote
Send us your tech pack, target quantities, and the market you are selling into. We reply with pricing, lead times, and any clarifying questions, and from here your project officially begins. This is the moment most buyers learn how easy it is to place an order for custom apparel with us.
8
Develop
Sampling & Pattern Making
Once we are aligned on price and scope, we develop your pattern and produce a sample. You review the fit, fabric, and finish, request any adjustments, and we refine until it is right — all before you commit to a single bulk piece.
9
Confirm
Approve Your PP Sample & Place the Order
Approve the pre-production (PP) sample, confirm your final quantities and terms, and place your order. Our production-planning templates and checklists keep your purchase order, timeline, and specifications organised from day one.
10
Produce
Bulk Production & Cut-and-Sew
Your order moves to the production floor. We handle fabric sourcing, cutting, stitching, printing or embroidery, and performance construction, all managed in-house so quality stays consistent across the entire run.
11
Verify
Quality Control Checks
Every order passes through our quality-control system. Seam strength, measurements, fabric, and finish are all inspected against your approved specification before anything is cleared for packing and shipping.
12
Deliver
Finishing, Packaging & Shipping
We finish, fold, tag, and retail-pack your order to your branding, then handle the logistics so it arrives safely — wherever you are in the world. Your custom apparel order is now complete and ready to sell.

Talk to Our TeamHow to Get Started: FAQs
Quick answers to the questions buyers ask most when they are working out where to start.
What is the minimum order quantity to get started?
Our standard minimum order quantity is 50 pieces per design. You can plan your order and check viable combinations using our MOQ calculator before you reach out.
Do I need a tech pack to place an order?
It helps, but it is not essential. If you do not have a tech pack, our ODM service and free tech pack templates will get you there. If you do have one, it makes your quote faster and more accurate.
How do I place an order for custom apparel?
Follow the steps above: explore our services, plan your specs, prepare your tech pack, then request a quote. After you approve a sample and the pre-production (PP) sample, you confirm quantities and your order goes into production.
How long does the whole process take?
Timelines vary by product type, quantity, and customisation. Our production timeline calculator gives a realistic estimate for your specific order, and we confirm exact lead times in your quote.
Can you provide certified materials for my market?
Yes. OEKO-TEX, GOTS, GRS, and Standard 100 certified materials are available through our certified mill partners on an order-by-order basis. See our certifications and affiliations for details.
What if I am still not sure where to start?
That is completely normal for a first order. Just contact our team with whatever you have — an idea, a reference garment, or a rough brief — and we will guide you to the right next step.
